Why Choose a PRP Facial at DrHair90210?

Platelet-rich plasma is concentrated from your own blood and contains growth factors involved in your skin's natural repair process. Applied during microneedling, it reaches the tiny channels the treatment creates, supporting gradual renewal of texture and tone.

At DrHair90210, your PRP facial is performed by Dr. Shalom himself, a physician who also uses PRP in his hair restoration work. He tailors the treatment to your skin, and can combine it with under-eye PRP, Botox or fillers in one plan.

Our PRP Treatments

Choose the signature PRP facial, focus on the under-eyes, or pair PRP with injectables. Dr. Shalom recommends the right approach at your consultation.

PRP Facial

PRP · Medical-grade microneedlingSignature

Medical-grade microneedling creates thousands of tiny channels in the skin, and PRP prepared from your own blood is applied while they are open. Improvement in skin quality builds gradually rather than all at once.

Designed forDull or uneven skin, early fine lines, enlarged-looking pores and mild acne scarring.

1. What is a PRP facial?

A PRP facial combines medical-grade microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) prepared from a small sample of your own blood. The PRP is applied while the micro-channels from microneedling are open, to support gradual improvement in skin texture, tone and radiance.

2. How is my PRP prepared?

A small blood sample is drawn in the office, much like a routine blood test, and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma. It is prepared fresh and used during the same visit.

3. Does it hurt?

Numbing cream is applied before microneedling, so most patients feel only mild pressure or tingling. The blood draw feels like a standard blood test.

4. Is there downtime?

Redness and mild swelling are common for a day or two, similar to a mild sunburn, and your skin may feel tight or dry for a few days. Dr. Shalom will give you aftercare instructions.

5. When will I see results?

Some patients notice a fresher look within a week or two. Changes in texture and tone build gradually over the following weeks, especially over a series of sessions. Individual results vary.

6. How many sessions will I need?

Most patients start with a series of three sessions about 4 to 6 weeks apart, followed by periodic maintenance. Your plan is set at your consultation.

7. What about under-eye PRP?

Under-eye PRP focuses on the thin skin beneath the eyes to improve the look of crepey, tired-looking skin over time. If you have deeper hollows, Dr. Shalom may recommend filler instead.

8. Can I combine it with Botox or fillers?

Yes. PRP improves skin quality, while Botox softens expression lines and fillers restore volume. Dr. Shalom can plan them together; the order and timing are set at your consultation.

9. Is a PRP facial safe?

Because PRP comes from your own blood, allergic reactions are unlikely. Temporary redness, swelling and bruising at the blood-draw site can occur. Dr. Shalom reviews your medical history first, as PRP is not suitable for everyone, for example during pregnancy or with certain blood disorders.

10. Who performs my treatment?

Dr. Jonathan Shalom, MD, personally performs every PRP facial at DrHair90210.

11. Can I pay over time?

Yes. We offer monthly payment plans through Cherry for single sessions and treatment plans, subject to approval. Our team can walk you through the options at your consultation.

12. Is PRP FDA-approved for facial rejuvenation?

No. PRP is not FDA-approved for facial rejuvenation. It is prepared from your own blood and used under physician supervision as part of a personalized plan.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is prepared from your own blood and is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for facial rejuvenation. All treatments are performed by Dr. Jonathan Shalom, MD, after consultation. Results develop gradually, multiple sessions are typically needed, and individual results vary. Botox and dermal fillers are FDA-approved for specific uses; see our Injectables page for details. Payment plans are offered through Cherry and are subject to approval. Botox is a registered trademark of its respective owner; DrHair90210 is not affiliated with product manufacturers.
